Today, children are experiencing and talking about technologies in their daily lives (electronic gadgets - iPhone/iPad/tablets, YouTube, Netflix, smartphones, video games, robots, etc.) while families are concerned about the effects of such technology on their children. How do we support educators to prepare young learners for life in a digital world rather than eschew all technology use? Educators will be supported to recognize that technologies are embedded in our daily social, work and school lives and consider how to harness this resource and make intentional choices about the use of technologies that align with their play-based philosophy. We will look beyond the measure of screen time and discover developmentally appropriate ways that allow for creating, collaborating, and communicating.
