Research shows that educators can transform their practice if given the opportunity to reflect with each other. Professional Learning Communities, also known as Communities of Practice and Critical Friends’ Groups, give us a framework to transform our reflection into actions that benefit ourselves, our children, our families, our colleagues, and our communities. This two-part professional development workshop will help you gain skills and tools to successfully facilitate Professional Learning Communities in your Early Childhood context. Participants will: -Discuss the needs of adult learners -Learn about the evolution of PLCs -Share experiences as reflective educators -Study facilitation strategies and approaches -Discover the power of protocols -Brainstorm how to frame discussions, dilemmas, and cases -Practice protocols for facilitation -Plan for the implementation of PLCs INFORMATION Dates:
