This is an Overview/Introductory training for Teaching Staff, Administration/Leadership Staff, Parents/Families, Family Child Care Providers, Prospective Providers or Students, Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care Providers.

This training will cover:
  • Child Development and Learning: Participants will:Recognize the capabilities of the young, mobile and older infant related to the emergence of communication.Understand the influence of culture on a childs language development and communication style.Become aware of cognitive development also includes language development, which is the childs ability to communicate, understand speech, and express themselves verbally.

During this two-hour workshop, participants will review strategies for supporting children’s language and cognitive development from birth through 36 months. This workshop is ideal for Family Child Care Providers, Family, Friend and Neighbor Care Providers, In-Home Care Providers, Center Based Staff, and Infant/Toddler Program Administrators.

Participants who complete the training will receive two hours of professional development which will be posted on the participant’s California Early Care and Education Workforce Registry Training and Education report.
