Motor vehicle crashes remain the number one killer of children. 3 out of 4 car seats are installed incorrectly, and children not properly secured in their car seats have a higher risk of being severely injured. Learn what the law requires to keep children safe when transporting children and common car seat errors and misuse. Attendees will be able to:
• select the right seat for a child
• correctly secure a child in their seat

This is an Overview/Introductory training for Family Child Care Providers, Prospective Providers or Students, Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care Providers.
Prior knowledge or experience needed:
- None
This training will cover:
- Health, Safety, and Nutrition: Attendees will be able to: -share safety information with parents -select the right seat for a child -correctly secure a child in their seat
Early learning standards/foundations:
- Infant Care (Birth - 18 Months)
- Toddler Care (19 - 36 Months)
- Preschool (3 - 5 Years)
