ADL workshops provide a foundation for exploring bias and its impact on individuals and society. Participants acquire effective strategies to confront prejudice and discrimination while simultaneously developing tools to recognize and respect diversity. Programs help develop intergroup communication skills, model effective anti-bias methods and increase the overall cultural competency of adults and students.

When working with children and families of different races, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, family structures, etc., personal biases may come up. This can affect school climate and communication. Understanding and recognizing bias is the first step in creating an equitable environment for children and their families. ADL’s anti-bias training with an emphasis on the importance of language can help educators examine how personal identity and cultural awareness influence a person’s perspectives and interactions and offers strategies for challenging bias and championing change.
